Since adolescence, I have been curious about the ways in which stepping outside our comfort zones can facilitate personal growth. This interest took me into a career leading wilderness expeditions for teens and young adults. As I began to heal some of my own wounds, I got very clear on what I really cared about: helping others tell their story. This is what led me to becoming a counselor.
When working with me you can expect an honest, caring, and values-based approach. I value real connection, humor, and creativity in my practice. My therapeutic work leverages modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Experiential Therapy, and mindfulness.
My clinical training began in Boulder, Colorado where I earned an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Naropa University. I have over 300 hours of training in experiential therapy. I have worked as a therapist in a number of settings. These include a residential treatment facility, community mental health, group therapy practices, and private practice.
I have lived in Colorado since 1987. When not wearing my therapist hat, I enjoy mountain biking, spending time with my wife, and staying physically fit by chasing our energetic toddler around the house.
