My varied background includes outdoor education, Buddhist Psychology, coaching, and mountain guiding. These seemingly different, yet related disciplines, allow me to offer perspective, kindness, and a space to explore new ways of being with my clients. 

Right now, I am primarily offering individual therapy, but also run groups and can provide coaching services.

Men’s Issues

From a young age, men are taught one version of masculinity – to be strong and to keep their emotions inside. This often leads to many men feeling isolated, anxious, and depressed. Bearing their emotional pain seems to be a better idea than opening themselves up to the stigma of seeking therapy. You don't need to "go it alone." I can help. 

Counseling for Anxiety

Is anxiety taking over your life? Does it feel like you can’t control it no matter how hard you try? If this sounds like you, I may be able to help. My practice combines mindfulness with experiential therapy to try to address your anxiety in a new way. Together we can work through underlying issues and build skills to take back control of your life. 

Anger Management

When you’re angry, do you lash out? Do you get angry when someone wants you to share your feelings? Are your family members or kids afraid to talk to you? Many men find it difficult to deal with the stressors of life, and this can result in strained relationships, loss of control, and behaviors which "medicate" the anger away. Long-term change begins with reflection and uncovering the nuance and complexity anger sometimes holds. 

Life Transitions

Change, positive or negative, can influence personal growth. Change gives us the opportunity to see what we’re made of, to become stronger, and to grow more confident. With each new challenge, we develop new personal skills and obtain a greater awareness of ourselves, our families, and our communities. Transitions may include grief, birth of a child, a step into sobriety, new relationship, job transitions, and so on. 

Therapy for Depression

Depression can leave us feeling worthless, guilty, shameful, and sad. It can tell us to give up before we have even begun, and it can remove all pleasure from places we used to find deep meaning. Therapy can help you start to see these issues in a new light, and get your life back.
