FAQs

Why do people do therapy?

Everyone needs a little help now and then. In our work together, you can expect me to help you approach your situation in a different way. We will identify the obstacles and problems you are currently facing, and work on new skills and perspectives to address these. I will highlight your strengths, listen without judgement, and help you listen to yourself. Therapy often involves retrospective processing, while simultaneously connecting to your present-day life and deepest values.

Where is your office?

I am located in Westminster, CO and offer online sessions as well. My office address is 8774 Yates Drive, Suite 350 in Westminster, Colorado.

How much does a session cost?

My fee is $175 for a 50 minute session, and $260 for a 90 minute session. Sliding-scale rates are available for a limited number of clients. Please contact me for group and workshop rates.

How do you accept payment?

I accept cash, check, and credit/debit cards, as well as HSA accounts.

Do you take insurance?

I accept Aetna and Cigna insurance plans. I am an “out of network” provider for other insurance companies, which means I don’t work directly with those insurance companies. If you would like, I can provide you with an invoice so you can seek potential reimbursement form your insurance company.

What is your therapeutic approach?

I am an experiential therapist who is both caring and honest. Some of the modalities I incorporate include: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, experiential and psychodramatic interventions, and existential therapy. See my "About" section for more information about me.

How do I find the right therapist?

Finding a therapist that understands you is the most important variable in effective therapy. I encourage everyone who is considering working with me to interview a number of therapists before committing. That is why I am happy to offer a free 20-minute phone consultation to see if it feels like a good fit for you. Taking your time in choosing a therapist will pay off in the long run.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to reschedule your appointment, I ask that you give me at least a 24-hour heads-up or you’ll be charged for the appointment in full. That said, I understand that emergencies happen, and I’m always willing to discuss exceptions on an individual, per time basis.
